The Victoria's Secret Webcast will prove a milestone in the history of Web broadcasting. Numbers will be awesome.
Technically, it was terrible, on a par with say, short wave radio! Note how the image didn't even fill the RealPlayer video window (a concession, presumably, to demand vs. bandwidth constraints). All sorts of artifacting, rebuffering, crummy sound, etc. But hey, as BCST's Cuban says, "it will never be worse than this!"
Don't think TVW is ready for major-scale multicasting and this sort of thing isn't quite its business model. But TVW's on the right track, and Victoria sure proves something: "Build it size 38D, and they will come!"
