Wednesday February 3 4:43 PM ET- Oil Tax Cut Bill Passes Hurdle

- (AUSTIN) -- The ink was barely dry on
Governor George W. Bush's emergency designation on a limited oil
industry tax cut bill that the State Senate Finance Committee passed it.
That sends it to the full Senate for consideration as early as next
week. The bill would remove the state severance tax on oil wells
producing less than 15 barrels a day whenever the price falls below
15-dollars a barrel. So-called ''stripper wells'' account for hundreds
of thousands of barrels of combined annual production.
