zp Don't forget the swap file. I have a lot of questions regarding the swap file that I've been meaning to ask. For another day though.... If you want to try the clone of the KOT primary onto the tail end of the NT drive in a hidden partition...an idea that has not received any support but has some merit as an interim KOT restore option I think it has merit too. It's on my list of ideas to explore so I'll be bringing up that discussion again in the near future. you would want to keep the KOT partition small as you would lose an equal amount of space on IDE1) Good point...Spots indicated he had 3 or 4 OSs stored in 500mb. So I figured NT + 98 wouldn't be a problem once I took the DI images out. But like I mentioned above, I don't know swap files from swap meets yet so maybe I should play safe and do 1 gig. I can not think of a reason to divide the extended partition I'm learning as I'm doing so if an extended without any logical devisions is legit thats ok by me until I need another partitioned space for whatever... then I'll subdivide the extended into logical partitions. is that your train of thought? My concern was that you would not be able to resize as PM thought the drive was full. You proved otherwise. I just went ahead clicked the mouse.... PM did the proving. Its (PM) really a smart and easy to use program doing pretty serious stuff. I can see why Pm is held in such high regard around here.. I would have suggested resizing first as FAT has the 2 gig limitation I wasn't going to resize from the 1 gig. I just wanted to see what size PM was going to decide the partition was... 1gig or 8 gig. It chose 2 gig so I wanted to get smaller and picked 500mb over 1gig at the last minute. But if you feel 1 gig has better breathing room and still not to much to lose off ide 1.. I'll switch to 1 gig. Clarence
