Although this is about Lexar, the more they help make Compactflash become the standard the better. And when they start paying royalties and back penalties all the better right.

( BW)(CA-LEXAR-MEDIA) Lexar Media Ships First 80MB CompactFlash Digital Film Card -
World's Fastest and Highest Capacity Available

Business Editors & Computer/High-Tech Writers

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 1, 1999--

80MB Card Features 8X Speed, High Capacity and Low Power
Consumption

Lexar Media, Lexar Media, a leading supplier of digital film, today announced it is shipping the Lexar Media Pro Series
80MB CompactFlash(TM) (CF) High Performance Digital Film(TM), the highest capacity and fastest CF digital film card
currently available. The new 80MB CF card continues the Lexar tradition of being the first to market with the fastest and
highest capacity CompactFlash cards. Lexar's Pro Series family of high performance digital film is specifically designed for
professional and "prosumer" digital photographers. The Pro Series 80MB CF digital film is shipping immediately to key digital
camera OEMs, and is available from professional camera resellers and the company's website at a price of $329.00.
"Once again, we are proud to be the first to deliver the fastest CompactFlash digital film solution with the highest capacity
available," said Jack Peterson, Vice President of Consumer Products, Lexar Media. "With the new Pro Series 80MB CF
digital film, we maintain our leadership position in a category where consumers will no longer settle for the sluggish speed of
generic CompactFlash solutions."

Speed and Capacity Critical for Digital Film

The Pro Series 80MB CF digital film offers 8X performance-up to three times as fast as the generic digital film currently
available. This is important since today's latest, high-resolution digital cameras generate huge picture files that can slow write
performance. The photographer must wait for the digital film to safely store these large image files before the camera is ready to
take the next shot. Faster performance reduces the wait-time and minimizes the chances of missing the opportunity for a live
action shot, a wedding kiss or a precious moment.
At 80MB, the new addition to the Pro Series family features the highest capacity CF card currently shipping. The more film,
the more pictures can be taken without re-loading. Since photographers may not be able to conveniently transfer their photos to
a PC when they are on location or in the field, capacity is a critical issue. This is compounded by the fact that digital
photographers typically take more shots than with traditional film since the cost per shot is not an issue since it is simple to
delete unwanted images and reshoot.
The new Pro Series 80MB CF digital uses Lexar's proprietary SpaceManager(TM) technology for faster performance,
superior shock/vibration resistance and lower power consumption. All Lexar digital film is covered by the Lexar Media Digital
Film Compliant(TM) guarantee that ensures consumers 100% compatibility with all of today's digital cameras. The cards are
also covered by Lexar's standard 5-year limited warranty.
