What causes the common cold?

How does Zicam work again the common cold?
Zicam works in the nasal passages right where it is needed. Once Zicam is applied to the nasal cavity, the active ingredient binds to the cold virus and inhibits the virus from invading the body. Research shows that Zicam significantly reduces the duration of the common cold.
