Intel (INTC,$162.63,Strong Buy)*is competing on features rather than price, in contrast to its price cuts of 1997. We expect 3Com to enact its typical February price cuts; we believe these actions are planned and will not affect the current quarter. Current quarter is traditionally weak and we expect a higher than usual degree of backend loading. As visibility into May quarter improves, stock performance should improve.
