Brad,
How does SI condone this??
Past couple of weeks, if & when you went into "Cheeky Kids" SI profile ... the "techstocks.com" URL changed to "Unicus.com" in a mili-second ... Took us out of SI ... and into HIS web site! Isn't there a SI law against this?
This was the URL. He has since erased it. unicus.com
He got "slapped on the hand" by SI, but is STILL posting. How many SI members would continue to feel comfortable and secure posting on SI ... if they knew that they could ... UNKNOWINGLY ... be bumped out out of SI. And, onto someone else's web site?
And, all SI does is "slap their hand", and allow them to continue to post ... as long as he changed his moniker (Sire - Cheeky Kid - Maxwell Smart)?? (He made an exact replica of SI profile format. Unless you saw URL, you would have thought you were still in SI.)
I'm one of the "Charter Members". I've been here since shortly after the inception of SI 3+ years ago. I used to be one of the top 25 people followed on SI. I haven't checked where I stand now. I don't honestly care. I'm sure it's MUCH lower - I hadn't posted for about 3 months during my move.
I AM GRAVELY DISAPPOINTED THAT "SILICON INVESTOR" DID NOT TAKE STRONGER ACTION ON THIS. I don't think anyone should log-in to SI, feel secure ... and then be taken out unknowingly to someone else's site! I know and accept about being followed around with "Cookies" - but, this was a new experience to me. One I didn't like!
BACK TO "CHEEKY KID" ......
For the past few weeks I couldn't access "Cheeky Kid's" past posts. I tried to, by clicking on his profile. I got into what looked like his SI Profile. Format was identical. But, it wasn't his actual SI profile. It was a fake SI Profile at his "unicus.com" web site. He even bragged about it on one of the threads! I'll give him credit. He did a a great job designing that web page.
Here's what it looked like. NO headings. NO posts. NO links to posts. Just this ...
Messages from last week on Cheeky Kid's FAKE unicus SI profile: #0000, Jan 30 2000 6:03PM #9999, Jan 30 1900 2:51PM #9999, Jan 30 1980 2:48PM #9999, Jan 29 1980 2:43PM #0000, Jan 29 2000 2:41PM #0000, Jan 29 2000 12:42PM LOTS MORE #9999 AND #0000 ... BLANK POSTS. No history. Member 3676497
Is this "legal" and allowable with Silicon Investor's "Terms of Conditions"?
I documented what occurred and have very credible witnesses who encountered, saw and can verify what I saw. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, and wanted to make sure it wasn't only me.
This "Cheeky Kid" is childish and exasperating. BUT ... you know, as well as many others on this thread ... that there is a helluva lot of stock manipulation going on. Many of us have to put up with it in one form or another.
I am VERY uncomfortable with the thought that a "stock manipulator" could create a web site ... an exact duplicate of SI format ... like Cheeky Kid did ... and unknowingly bump us to their site ... where they post FALSE information (or create a false history) ... which appears to be true because it has the look, feel and appearance of SI.
And you guys do NOTHING about it. I wrote to you (just cause I wanted a way to erase Cheeky Kids posts, cause he cluttered my mailbox. I wrote to the "webmistress" about being bumped to "Cheeky Kid's" web-site, and provided the URL's to get there. (I know the webmistress used to Jill, who I've always liked. But,I'm not sure who it is now.) I NEVER GOT A RESPONSE FROM EITHER OF YOU. The only thing that happened was "Cheeky Kid" changed his name to "Maxwell Smart" and continued to post.
Sorry for hostility in this post. But, this really gets me mad. I used to feel comfortable on SI, even though some people drove me CRAZY. But, now ... unless a questionable post or profile is from someone I know ... I now have check the URL. What a hassle.
I shouldn't feel the need to do this.
Thanks,
Cheryl
