stock bull,

It is very difficult to predict a sell-off after earnings. Typically that is the case, as momemtum players will play a stock simply for the earnings run and then sell right before or shortly after. The variable that you are playing with is (obviously) the earning themselves. If they are very strong and by this I mean the kind of earnings that MSFT just recently released, then you will not see a pull back right away, you will much more likely see a major move upwards and relatively sustained. Then of course there is the speculation that there will be a stock split announcement. If this comes to pass, all bets are off. And the pull back when it comes will not be as severe.
