Paul: <<but the reason can only be BAD>>

You may be right!

Yet, what is it?

The NEC and GTW deals must be done by these two companies with at least some sort of due deligence on supply issues (please note that both companies use K6-2 400). The 2 design wins imply that there are steady supply of 400s as a result of the "fix." This indicates that the "bad" news may very well NOT related to production problems.

Vantis related? From Scott Allen's reply to ZD net (forget the link, some thing like "I am tightly constrained as to what I can say"), sounds like something much bigger pending now than the worst thing could happen to Vantis.

The only thing can be said at the moment is that the event triggered the cancellations occured in the last 24 hours or so and is still on going.

Only the following 4 events that might fit:
1. Failure of the "fix" became transparent, need more time to assess financial impact.

2. Accounting problems at AMD or one of its subsidiaries that need more time for investigaton.

3. Raza gets canned

4. On-going negotiation concerning change of ownership.

Whatelse?
