Fred - Neo is in all Dell notebooks with the exception of the Inspiron 7000 line, a big clunky desktop replacement that barely qualifies as a notebook. ATI also made several other design wins over the last year - all high end models and all at CHiPs, SIII and TRIDs expense. I still have not heard of one instance where a Neo socket has been displaced by ATI or anyone else.

In November, Neo introduced it's 3d charged chip, it is yet to be seen how this chip fares.

That Neo's earnings growth would slow down this year to a more sustainable level is old news and has been reflected in earnings estimates for about a year. This is such old and obvious news that I stupidly assumed that it was already fully priced in the stock. Notable in both downgrades were no earning estimate reductions - just the chilling cry that their earnings growth may decline. Such powerful insightful analysis - and so timely.

As a matter of fact Neo's forward earnings estimates have been rising modestly all year. Try this link and hit the watch trends in the earnings estimates graph:

Very odd, very odd indeed.

By the way Morgan Stanley for all the arm waving and vague warnings still rates Neo an accumulate. Would you buy stock on this recommendation under these circumstances or sell it? Would you trust these people alone with your wife?

Well they can have my wife, what the hell, she needs a laugh. But I wouldn't trust them with a stock certificate. I still question the value of their ratings, the quality of their analysis and the timing of the changes.
