ETrade CFO: 'No Special Effort' to Compensate Customers for Outage By Heather Moore Staff Reporter 2/3/99 8:06 PM ET After a presentation late this afternoon at the NationsBanc Montgomery Securities Technology Week Conference in San Francisco, ETrade (EGRP:Nasdaq) CFO Leonard Purkis said the company will not make any extraordinary efforts to make good on trades that couldn't be completed when its trading site crashed intermittently throughout today's session. "We look at this like any other trading day," Purkis said. "There will be no special effort to compensate our customers."
