Mike,
You asked, "Pardon the off topicity of another book. I was thumbing a copy of "What Works on Wall Street" last night. I have heard of it, but have never read it. It looked like a worthy addition to the library. Any reviewers have a .02?"
For what it's worth – bought it, didn't like it, won't recommend it. By the way, James O'Shaughnessy has several mutual funds based on the research in that book. I even bought one of them awhile back. I figured if the fund is a reflection of the research in that book, then it should go places. It didn't. I said, "The heck with this, I can do better on my own." I sold my shares in the fund and have done better on my own. Plus, it's more fun. I haven't checked the O'Shaughnessy funds lately, but they're listed in the WSJ and IBD. Check it out. Remember, if he can't do it or you can do better, then why buy his book?
Try "Stock Market Logic" by Norman G. Fosback. Now there's an exceptional book that also goes into what works on Wall Street. That one I highly recommend.
