HWP, Hewlett-Packard is a well-respected company in general. We all love their printers [my Laser Jet 4 finally gave me a 'service error' after 7 years of perfect service]. They have established themselves as a top 5 PC maker thru strong retail channels. Now re-defining themselves as an internet company. . .

Listen, it would be easy to laugh this one off as "we want our stock price to rise so we are going to saythat we are an internet company too." But this is Hewlett-Packard Co. Here is what they said:

. . . new Internet-focused division -- the biggest division within the company -- and says it will announce a series of products and alliances over the next several months that will advance and simplify the existing state of online business.

My guess is that they will announce BIG alliances and will offer some impressive new products that will turn even the biggest heads. Don't underestimate this press release, IMO.

HWP upgraded today by DLJ and reports earning on Feb. 16. I think we found a great large cap swing trade, as they re-define themselves.
