It's a war, Neocon, and the first casualty is truth. With the Paula Jones case, the truth is extremely murky, starting with the Arkansas trooper story at the very beginning. You guys might like reading Tom Clancy, I prefer John Le Carre'. Better writer, though a bit uneven, and his prose is usually less prolix. Moral ambiguity may not be a Platonic ideal, but it is a real world problem.
Where have I ever asked anybody for a straight answer here? Nothing personal, you've certainly been much straighter than most of the people I engage in "substantive debate" here, my compliments on that. Is this like where I supposedly called JLA "worse than a murderer"? I had that bizarre dialog with mrknowitall about how unknowable it all was before the election, but I don't expect anybody to answer my questions. That particular dialog was amusing, but not serious in any way I could see. No, Clinton shouldn't have lied, but considering the context, I see justification in not calling it impeachable.
Clinton didn't invent politics as a blood sport, though he plays the game better than most. Sorry that that seems to be a problem for the Republicans at the moment, but you and others have assured us that's just a temporary problem with the fickle public. The ~2/3 of us who don't much like the impeachment morality play will all come around, after a little more preaching by the smug morally superior Republicans, right? Then the Clinton albatross will hang around the head of the Democratic party for 30 years, right? To repeat, hope springs eternal... |
