My little guy has had a life long addiction to fetching little yellow sound proof ear plugs. He likes the size, consistency and can see em pretty well. Every night when I come home he gets all excited and goes crooked tail running into the bedroom, cuz the ritual is supposed to start on top of the bed. When I acquiesce which is often, I find one of his toys and join him in the game. After a while he will sometimes come to his senses, stop play momentarily to stare intently out the nearest window for fear that one of his feline buddies may be peeking through the pane in open mouthed horror catching him at such an undignified uncatlike moment. Once embarrassment is assuaged, he returns to fetch the little yellow thingy again and again, til exhaustion sets in. He too understands the meaning and purpose of applause for the more exhibitionistic aerial snags. He especially likes toy-in-mouth belly rubs. If I were him I'd be embarrassed. Afterwards he carries his toy around and usually places it by his dinner dish for safe keeping though sometimes he'll self-entertain by continuing to chase and fetch on his own. If he knew I were posting this on the web, he'd have me declawed.
