Jeff,
AMD is reporting they may incur a loss in quarter one. Between the predatory pricing of the Celeron and the 2 month delay of the K6-3 and K6-2-450 if appears that AMD has fallen again. The predatory pricing of the Celeron is taking its toll. DOJ will like that one. This coupled with the delays due to process problems has left AMD without any high margin chip, namely the K6-3 that they had been banking on.
The K6-3 will debut at 400 in March and will be in short supply duringthe quarter. The K6-3-450 won't even be a factor. Meanwhile the Celeron 433 will debut and further pressure AMDs ASPs. So no wonder they will have a blah quarter.
Appears the problem with all this is that it's dragging down Intel....Analysts don't like price wars but Intel has always come through with a profit. Appears Intel will be a buy at a lower level.

Jim
