MELBOURNE, Fla., Feb. 4, /PRNewswire/ -- Exigent International, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: XGNT; CHX) today announced that OS/COMET(R), the
flagship command and control product developed by subsidiary Software
Technology, Inc. (STI), has been selected, pursuant to contractual
agreement, by AlliedSignal Technical Services Corporation to be the core
component of the satellite operations center for their DataLynx(SM) system.

Speaking from the Satellite 99 industry conference in Washington, D.C.,
Exigent CEO Bernie Smedley said, "AlliedSignal and DataLynx are important
components in Exigent's mission to deliver innovative space and
telecommunication technology.

"OS/COMET was chosen for DataLynx after a thorough technical and operational
assessment against world-class competition. This affirms STI's position as
the industry leader for satellite control solutions that scale from single
satellite applications, to multi-mission control centers, to the world's
largest constellations.

"This initial multi-million dollar order for control center software is a
beginning return on the 1998 investment that Exigent put into our latest
generation products."

DataLynx is an innovative venture designed to provide engineering and
operational efficiencies for civil, commercial, and military space programs.
DataLynx gives customers the ability to decrease cost and risk for their
satellite programs by providing satellite ground services such as Tracking
Data Acquisition and Commanding, Satellite Asset Management and Operations,
and Data Processing and Management at a lower cost through shared facilities
and structured utilities-based pricing.

DataLynx also lowers costs by sharing traditionally under-utilized assets
(satellite ground stations, control centers, data processing systems) across
a diverse customer base. Customers only pay for the time that they actually
use the network. The use of standard protocols, interfaces, and formats
simplifies the commercialization of telemetry, tracking, and control
services and allows the use of automation to further reduce cost and risk.
Because the costs for such assets can be distributed across several clients
and programs, the high quality of the operational system is delivered to
each customer mission (AlliedSignal quality programs are ISO
9000-compliant), while the costs for the robust DataLynx network are
equitably distributed.

The earliest version of OS/COMET originated more than two decades ago in
software produced for the U.S. Navy's Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). It
was in this connection that STI first came in contact with AlliedSignal.

Mr. Rick Hieb, former astronaut and Director of Commercial Space for
AlliedSignal stated, "AlliedSignal has a long history of success with STI,
deploying OS/COMET solutions for multi-mission control centers. DataLynx
leverages AlliedSignal's industry-leading strengths in satellite mission
operations and ground systems to provide the first commercial satellite
management offering. We are providing our DataLynx customers a proven
operational capability built upon industry-leading COTS like STI's OS/COMET
product suite."

STI's Commercial Division Vice-President, Jim Traficant, said, "OS/COMET
gives DataLynx a scalable, robust operational solution, complete with
integrated automation tools. Equally important, we're delivering the
compelling business advantages of STI's industry-leading COTS solutions --
speed-to-market, high quality, and reuse across the mission lifecycle.
AlliedSignal and STI have combined our collective core strengths to
successfully deliver satellite operations services for world-class
government and commercial programs. STI is very pleased at the opportunity
to join forces again on DataLynx."
