NW...CPQ is headed down, I have to agree. Whether it is 40 or 42 it doesn't really matter. The message is that Ben Rosen and EP have screwed up one of the best growth companies of the '90s. I can't possibly imagine what their mission statement is. My guess there is not a person on this thread that could figure it out given the actions of the last few months.
Ok, so now we have a $42 stock that promises to be something it wants to be but has no clearly defined strategy to get there. I keep flashing back to the EP interview just before the AV (deal?). "Much more internet" was the message. What kind of desperate strategy is that? This is a Fortune 500 company, a top tier S&P 500 company. Why don't they start acting like it? I sure don't see the mixed messages coming from HWP or IBM.
IMO management has only reinforced the distrust the street already had in them.
