I am getting nervous watching the stock price dip, but I am stubbornly holding on to my shares (possibly against common sense) in case positive news comes out of the shareholders meeting on Thursday. It is starting to become all too clear that recent gains in stock price have been a result of hype, optimistic speculation, and cultlike positive AERN postings on various WEB bulletin boards. The CEO of AERN himself has not been able to explain the recent price moves (or enthusiasm) and has also stated that he does not expect to make any forthcoming announcements any time in the immediate future. In regards to the "positive" quarterly report that stated "only" $.09/share loss (compared to a $.19/share loss in the first quarter of 1995), a closer look at the numbers shows that company sales revenue is actually down: battery sales in this quarter amounted to only $15,000, compared to $29,000 in the first quarter of 1995. However, reduced R & D overhead in 1996 has translated into a deceptively smaller loss than in 1995. (All this information can be found in the "briefing books" at www.wsj.com).

I don't mean to be negative (sorry Don L.), and I would love to see AERN prices soar as much as anyone else who owns shares. But the facts don't suggest any skyrocketing AERN stocks any time soon. Supposedly, there has been a posting that another company has begun publicizing their own 15 hour battery technology (see the daily remarks that are on the same page as the stock charts), a finding that may explain the recent drop in share price.

I'd like to ask a question for the veteran investors out there: What is the purpose of a SHAREHOLDERS' meeting? What types of issues are discussed at these meetings? are new announcements
customarily revealed at them? Thanks, and let's hope we hear good news soon.
