Spots w98 and the backup NT in two separate partitions...... a perfectly possible alternative Thanks for confirming...... I could do the nt install tomorrow after giving this new twist to your nt backup idea a litle time for due diligence. If there is no downside to a separate partition, say 500 mb FAT, for BU NT, I think its worth while so as to avoid redundance. Two copies of each OS is enough. Clarence
