Accessing either NT or 98 would involve switching active status in PM or other.

There may be more to it than that. Two primary unhidden partitions may be an issue. You may have to hide and unhide partitions.

Seems installing the Backup NT into another primary partition would also be acceptable. That way one could backup w98 separately and alone to the end of the main drive (ide 1). Accessing either NT or 98 would involve switching active status in PM or other.

It may involve hiding and unhiding partitions.

In stead of the dual boot accessability. I'm seriously considering doing that to avoid having a third copy of NT to get confused with. Also seems to me problem prone having two copies of the same OS on the same drive.

Are you referring to the clone of the KOT win98 install to the tail end of IDE1? The idea I presented involved hiding the cloned partition at the end of IDE1. It would appear as nothing from all boots. The only time you would know it existed would be from Partition Magic (perhaps other utilities as well NT disk manager?)

In either case you would not know what operating system it is and it would not make any difference if it were Win98, NT or a combination.

I do not promote hidden partitions. The hidden partition on the tail end of IDE1 was proposed as an interim solution until Drive Image or other gives us the NTFS restore option.
