Are you referring to the clone of the KOT win98 install to the tail end of IDE1?

Right.. I was looking to avoid the NT backup being part of the clone

The hidden partition on the tail end of IDE1 was proposed
as an interim solution until Drive Image or other gives us the NTFS restore option.

Thats true. When DI becomes native to NT we can stor an image of KOT w98/95 on ide 1. I am unfamiliar with the ins and outs of hidden partitions so I did not consider the problems involved.

Can I assume a hidden partition at the end of ide 1 is a viable option at least temporarily? Whether it contains just w98 or the 98/nt combo will require some rereading of recent posts on my part.
