The PQT (Cliff Notes Condensed Version) Clips from the Web

Hard news linked. Greatful appreciation to the anonomous posters from SI & Yahoo. And don't forget to vote ! See last paragraph

In closely related news, Internet stock quote provider PC Quote (PQT) climbed 2-5/16 to 6-3/4 amid rumors that a marketing team-up or outright merger with leading Web portal Yahoo! (YHOO) could be in the works.

PICO would be the great winner if PQT is sold. The less volatile way to own PQT is to own PICO(majority shareholder of PQT).Believe or not,PICO trades near book value.Just for PQT, they have a huge paper profit that will translate in a higher book value if PQT is acquired

PC Quote (PQT) ran up 2 5/16 -- 54 percent-- to 6 13/16. PC Quote's CFO John Juska said, "The whole sector is very strong and the online industry is attracting a lot of attention overall." Shares of online financial data provider Track Data (TRAC) rose 1 7/8 to 14 1/4.

This is not a stock for fundamentalists. If someone is preaching poor fundamentals, they are shorting the stock. If they really cared about fundamentals, they wouldn't be at this message board in the first place.

This is a momentum stock. I'll admit that I am a stockholder (I won't say long because I will sell tomorrow if the price rises enough). Like others before me have said, this probably isn't a stock to mortgage the house on. It may run up 100% and you would wish that you had mortgaged the farm, but it is just likely to fall back to $2. I obviously am hoping for the former.

You might have saw it earlier, but I saw it later too..
Actually at about 3:40 +/- I saw the bid size go to 990 x 5
I almost fell out of my seat. It looks like something is really going to happen here.

Just the same as partners in a bridge hand will convey their intentions to their partner through Bidding signs, I believe these Market Makers are talking to one another. What they're saying by these quick momentary B/A flashes I don't know for sure but I have to believe it might mean they have a huge buyer and need to fill a large order. It might possibly tie in with the fake way they pulled the price down as I mentioned (at 2:57:48). Could've been a ploy to start
acquiring shares for their larger buy order.

I traded pqt back in 1996. The stock dropped from 25 to 6 long before they lost schwab as a customer. 1996 was the first "internet craze" and that is why it went to 25 - all on speculation. When it started its slide, an influential investment analyst (whose name I forget) called PC Quote a $2.00 stock. Management never responded to this article and the fall hastened. pqt then quickly went to the $2.00 level. The schwab dissapointment killed off any hopes of it moving up again until this latest run up which is only partially based on speculation. Its a different company, new management and a much different speculative environment. Much speculation turns to fact with all the M & A going on in the internet sector.

I for one, continue to have full confidence in Mr. Porter, his board, his employees for how they are handling this & as I have said before....and as others have reiterated, Mr. Porter has no salary. No way am I bailing out now.

This is why yahoo rumor is true...
Why would pcquote have a link that ended in yahoo!
pcquote.com
no other reason.. unless someome has an explaination...

DID YOU GUYS SEE THE NIGHTLY BUSINESS REPORT TV PROGRAM?
PC QUOTE WAS ENTHUSIASTICALLY HERALDED AS ABSOLUTE TOP PERCENTAGE GAINER ON THE ENTIRE AMEX STOCK EXCHANGE.

If you look back over the past two years of trading, or even past 12 months, the volume has gradually increased (it never had much activity, only a few of us knew PQT existed, only a few of us bought whenever 'extra cash' was available. Many at $1 or less.
What we have seen this past week is historical (except it was in the $20 range back in late 1995 & I have no way of retrieving what the volume was during that period.) How much of this volume is attributable to day traders or institutional buying, or positioning for whatever reason remains to be seen.

One thing I have found on these boards is if most of the talk is negative it means buy and if most of the talk is positive it means sell. This system works almost 80% of the time

Per the company - They are in the process of incorporating pcquote.com in order to spin it out as new IPO (Similair to DBCC/MKWT). The PQT will retain apx 80% of the spun out entity and will use the proceeds of the IPO to upgrade their quote plant. Reason 2: The company will annouce shortly that they have won back the Charles Schwab business that they lost 2 years ago.

As much as I would like to, I don't beleive these rumors about YHOO although they will help the stock tommorow. I've been long this stock since the day after Thanksgiving at about 1.875. By my valuation I think the stock is worth about 15-18.
