Mike-- Good question...HeartSoft does not market to the retail market at this time. Competition for room on yours, and other's, shelves forces software makers to discount heavily, sometimes to the point of a bare profit.
HeartSoft markets to the school market, selling via site licenses on a district-wide basis. I am not surprised, then that you have not heard of the company. But that will change.
Ben Shell has announced discussions for launching an Internet-based selling strategy. What that would lead to, in my guess, is selling software via the Net, cutting out packaging, shipping, and middleman costs. Sorry, that means you, too. But if it works, it will mean great things for the company.
I hope you enjoy watching the fireworks here!
