JS....I used to defend E-trade as well. And from the stories I read here and elsewhere, I have been pretty lucky. If you use market orders twice a month to buy and sell shares of GE, and you place the orders at night, and you don't care if you lost or gained a buck.....e-trade is great for that.

Their shortcoming is in the very area they promote.....active trading during periods when the market is open.

It's not a matter of *IF* you will get burned on an E-trade transaction, but *WHEN*.

BTW, how's that e-trade stock coming??????<g>
