OK, that is a fairly even analysis and I have little problem with it except to say that Quigley and Gumm have taken two different approaches with the same basic product...While Quigley's product works slowly through the mouth, Zicam directly attacks the irritant, in the nasal passage! It is particularly this issue that makes GUMM a better mousetrap.

I know that GUMM is in an uphill battle. Marketing is tough, as you point out, when you have plenty of money. I realize there are no guarantees that Zicam will become the product of choice. But, if it works, as the management believes that it does, and as some of our correspondents now do, and if the product gets to market, then empirically people will discover its merits.

How about another scenario. What if after a year a company with marketing muscle decides they want to own Gel Tech and take it where GUMM is incapable of taking it. (I'm not convinced that they cannot but this is hypothetical). What might this product be worth to Warner Lambert or Watson Pharmaceuticals....That might well provide the cash horde that GUMM requires to market their proprietary products.

By the way, I hear that getting this product to market is not a problem. Demand for Zicam is apparently greater than GUMM expected. I understand that the manufacturing facility in Washington can meet most any demand and there are other retailers interested in the product. We will not know for sure until GUMM releases information or 1st quarter sales reporting.
