DaveMG:

Seems to me that Tero is fixed on the short term. He always seems to say that because GSM/Nokia/Ericson has an advantage today that the advantage will remain forever. He seems to say that every contract today is the definitive proof that CDMA is hopeless. He seems to continually say that that this is a zero sum game. That dividing up today's pie is all there is. This is the same argument we have endured since day one. CMDA is not equal to GSM/TDMA today therefore it is not viable.

Well I do not invest for today. I invest for tomorrow. This is not a zero sum game; the pie is growing exponentially. You do not rob Peter to pay Paul. There will be multiple standards for the foreseeable future as each network was and is built on economic decisions, each of which are unique.

CDMA will make more and more sense (and cents) to more and more providers as time goes on. Not to today, maybe tomorrow, certainly next week. That is why it is called investing.

Happy Friday
