No peer as a reference. Strongest recommendation.

All PC encyclopedias I've tried need work on the interface.
Too cutesy by far. Britannica's merely OK in that regard.

I've been using the 98 edition but just bought the 99 Reference
Suite from buy.com (where else), which includes an atlas,
a very good dictionary (Mirriam Webster's Collegiate) AND
an unadvertised $20 rebate. Supposedly the 99 version has
a much-improved search engine, though 98's is pretty good.
