Calling a human a pig is one of the most unproductive mouth exercises there is.

Well, I have been long divided on such opinion.... because in truth, there are humans that do behave even worse than that. I understand where you are coming from, and to a point I share that opinion, however, I also believe that colorful language, at times, does a better job of describing particular circumstances when it comes to extreme human behavior.

I guess it must be the Latin DNA in me that seem to have an easier time when it comes the time to boil...

Likewise, I can not deny that there is always a benefit that a cool head should prevail over a passionate heart.

When it comes to politicians, bishops, and bureaucrats.... I have my reasons to be so generous in my descriptions, however in deference to you, I shall do my best to use different words when I refer to .... well, er... these useless beings... (oh well, I am doing my best).

On with the subject at hand.

But I share with you and I speculate that today millions upon millions of inhabitants in various countries share with us a deep and profound dislike, a year by year increasing resentment against politicians. Not because they are useless. Not at all. They are just of no use to us, the people who gave them the power to represent us.

What possible benefit can they bring to us ?, or to anybody for that matter.... Think about it. They have created these incredible jobs that at best, baffles common sense as to how they get there, they spend unaccounted billions... with what results.

I confess I am not all that familiar with the Swiss form of government, but the little I know, seems to be of more sense than most others.

1. They do not have a single "President" (seven members of a governing board), which seem to set policy.

2. I assume they have representatives from the different Cantons that influence how laws and policies are carried out.

3. All major decisions are based on referendum. I am of the opinion that there is always a lot to argue as to what the "wisdom of what the majority may choose", but that is a slightly different subject of its own. One where the level of education of said majority has a lot to do with the proposed wisdom.

Again.... since I admit not to be very knowledgeable of the Swiss system, perhaps there are flaws, my point here is that if you spread power away from a single leader, (without the excesses of a bureaucracy), one may get a better result.

My main point here is the "usefulness" of a governing class. If "power to the people means anything then things should be taken to the people to decide, that is why my reference to the Swiss way.

Politicians, as well as bishops have created and perpetuated their cushy jobs by:

1. Creation of myths. (Politicians know what's best for all. Fear of god)

2. Complacency and Ignorance by the great majorities (Daddy government will provide for me. so will god after I die).

3. Creation of idiotic laws, convoluted practices, and perpetuation of equally absurd "traditions". (read a tax code, and observe world population growth explosion.... and you will understand).

As for Bureaucracies.... This is the monster that administers all of the above. Go get a building permit.... and hope they do not determine that your land is part of the sacred "wet-lands" (never mind that it is in the middle of an industrial area). Get entangled in an idiotic lawsuit with city hall, or some demented neighbor because you stepped on her cat's tail.... and on, and on, and on....

4. Perpetuating status quo. (keep them confused and uneducated.... we can take care of things, as we squeeze the morons dry).

But calling politicians with or without appropriate attributes, mothers, lowlifes, pigs, wind hounds, scum bags, scoundrels is a waste of time, besides they are not all so bad. I am sure if they deliver to us what they promise before they are elected they are OK.

Well, the calling is more important, not so much in defining what they really are, but in measuring the degree of discontent and frustration with them, besides.... it feels good!

As to them "being not so bad.... because if they would deliver, we would be happier".... well, that's the very point, these guys do not deliver !! they just keep on talking double speech and that's it.

They throw logic and common sense (there is these words again), out the window if it meant nothing. They cater to corrupted equals, so they do not disturb the well oiled machinery of dysfunction... "for the good of the people". (never mind they are the ones that determine such "good").

Yes indeed I talk about a social revolution which is long overdue anyway. But it is a particular form of social revolution. The particularity is found in the fact that the revolution part is already completed. It's behind us one could say.

Agreed.... but it is important to define the terms.

What I am proposing is that the people, -not a party, no banners, no marches- band together and deal themselves into the games politicians played so far on our backsides without sharing with us their winning hands.

Indeed... and this time it will be actually possible, because of the communication we already discussed.

A small example again..... One of the reasons sub-comandante Marcos, in Chiapas, Mex. (not the one from SI), <g> has not been crushed by the Mexican Army (!?), is because he has been able to get his message out to the world community via the Internet.

The background: (in English)

flag.blackened.net

And a subsequent letter: (this letter is in Spanish, linked to a site in French)

save-the-world.com

I do not particularly agree in their methods. But my point is that 10 or 20 years ago the possibility of this and similar groups to put out such a message with such wide distribution would be completely impossible, yet today it is.

Again, you are correct in saying that an armed revolution would be a complete loss of time life and infrastructures, that for better or for worse is already here....

However, there is tremendous room for improvement and as you say, it must be executed with the participation of the people, with a defined plan and confined to tasks that pertain to "matters of government".

The imposition of personal agendas, moral standards, and other issues that belong more in the realm of "personal choice", is best to be left out of the plans. But it is important that EDUCATED public participation takes place. In a form of "consensus", not dictated by an elite, be this from the left or the right.

Most importantly, the possibility of enhancement and motivation of success and reward BY THE INDIVIDUAL is of prime importance.

Why ?

1. Because such is human nature.

2. Because through history, it is proven that the effort of the individual, when is allowed to be properly rewarded, is what yield the best result.

And I do not mean that corruption should be allowed.

There are many activities that the government simply should keep their hands off.

1. Government should be limited to national defense (armed forces).
2. Domestic safety (Police)
3. Court system.

The rest belongs to the confines of free markets which can best determine the best choices.

Those elected officials should be well compensated, perhaps under a bonus system based on results, and there should be harsh penalties if found to be corrupt, or abusive of public trust.

Private life matters should be left to the confines of soap operas and the like, not debate of public policy.

Of course, that under the present circumstances, state of mind and level of education of the masses, all of the above sounds like a hallucination of life in Planet Hollywood.

But that can be changed... The idea of the network, is the way to start. One in which "nations", "flags", and similar concepts are obsolete.

And such networks are already underway.... Finance ?...HA ! if people buy the fleas of non reporting pseudo companies of the bulletin board Universe.... why not present a comprehensive, logical and honest "White Paper" followed by a formal document similar to a public offering.

Specific benefits and ownership interest of the network to those who take the initial risk should be granted.... The network is simply the link for information exchange and in turn for trade... cyberspace, where there are no nations, no flags, no government "bodies", simply a free market.

There is nothing governments can do to by pass that, even if they try, I am willing to say that the technology would be capable of bypassing any kind of barrier.

The important thing is that there should be an acceptance of the principle by a significant majority.

The trading community will follow, and it is in the best interest of the proponents and believers of such idea to keep the network honest and functioning. I did d not say that it would become a "nanny".

As they say, it is a brave new world out there, one in which knowledge and education will serve as base, innovation and achievement will deliver the results.

It would be best for everyone that governments do not oppose this, on the contrary, they should nurture it.

Anyway.... I must go do other stuff so I can not stay. The above are mere ideas, from there, I am certain people that are more qualified than I, are already taken steps.....

Talk to you later. i would continue, but right now.... time is of the essence... and it is pressing.

Much left out.... for a later time.
