Jim, the depth of penetration into continuous kimberlite for these holes indicates to me that they are into the main pipe or pipes....It wouldn't appear feasible to encounter same through average sized dykes, sills or laccoliths...
Although it is not unheard of that some laccoliths, which trend horizontally, can exhibit substantial vertical thickness, oftentimes the lay of the land above the laccolith can give a clue as to just whether one lies below or not...Nevertheless the drill will eventually pass through it......
As an example here....picture a kim pipe as a large tree growing
upwards underground....then picture the dykes, sills and laccoliths
as branches, if you will, from the main trunk (the pipe)...
Looking at this depiction from the side, ACA/PUG appear to have
drilled right down the 'trunk" and not though the branches...
For them to have 'hit the trunk' three?? times indicates to me that they have one "hellava" hugh pipe or pipes........
Depending on the separation of the target holes, they just may have hit one of the largest pipes in the world...Although above-ground "space & time constraints" indicate to me the holes are in relatively close proximity...
As a "for instance", to the south, Montello has claimed that one of the "anomalies" which, to my understanding, they have claimed, at different times, to be both kim and/or lamp, apparently extends for a horizontal length of over one kilometer...Difficult to analyse without studying the mags and associated data which I don't have ;-)....you could be looking down at a "tree", as per the above analogy...OR at lamp, which is shaped like a champagne glass...(as opposed to the 'tree'..)
However, MEO won't know until they drill into their big 'anomaly"...But, when they will 'do' this is anyone's guess...I can't remember right off hand for sure, but I think their "big" anomaly is located on the NCS property...
So, my take is that the ACA/PUG play is for real....It's 'hot' and
I'll leave it at that..;-)
