Customers Empowered to Conduct Business via the Internet
BOISE, Idaho, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Global technology company Extended Systems (Nasdaq: XTND) is partnering with Open Systems, Inc., developers of Open Systems Accounting Software (OSAS), to distribute OSAS Web Server Solution, the Extended Systems Internet Access Server preconfigured with OSAS Web.
The OSAS Web module provides an Internet interface to Open Systems' accounting software data. The module allows OSAS users, typically small- and medium-sized businesses, to access sales, receivable and inventory information via the Internet.
Extended Systems' ExtendNet Internet Access Server (IAS), is a dedicated hardware interface that provides access to the Internet, e-mail capabilities, and security. The OSAS Web module will be preconfigured onto the ExtendNet IAS to create the OSAS Web Server Solution. This integrated, all-in-one solution will give OSAS users access to critical accounting data from virtually anywhere in the world and will provide e-commerce functionality.
"This is an exciting partnership because it allows us to provide an all-inclusive, easy-to-implement solution that is geared toward saving our customers and VAR Channel time and energy," said Open Systems Regional Sales Manager Cindy Fitzgibbons. "It also provides customers with critical business tools -- Internet and Web access -- that many of them have not yet acquired."
Important to positioning the OSAS Web Server Solution, according Extended Systems Internet Solutions Business Unit Manager Brad Surkamer, is the reputation his company and Open Systems, Inc. have for emphasis on product quality, ease of use and low total cost of ownership. In addition, Surkamer says both companies have long, successful company histories and offer outstanding service and support.
The OSAS Web Server Solution will be available through IS Systems in San Antonio, TX. Installation technical support as well as remote support will be provided by IS Systems to the reseller. Additional Services may include on-site installation and customized web page development. IS Systems brings to the table experience and a full working knowledge of the Extended Systems IAS and OSAS. President Alex Pearson is a former Product Development Manager for Open Systems and is well-respected in the OSAS VAR Channel.
