1.) Originally, a simple "oops" would have gotten this one done. Instead, you bobbed and weaved and denied and obfuscated and called me names (trashed my reputation) until you were finally backed into a corner and forced to admit what everyone else could plainly see -- hmmm...

2.)Yes, I ask for the bona fides before I climb onto the bandwagon to attack someone. Do you have a problem with that? (I also don't believe everything I read on the internet.)

3.) First, the spelling 'potatoe' doesn't bother me. I also accept and allow for the fact that politicians of all stripes are forced to live under a microscope. I don't think that those are the things that got Quayle into trouble in the spelling bee incident, but that's a different question. However, even if you accept "tit-for-tat" as a fairness argument, I think that fairness still requires that the thing you're describing as having happened actually did more or less happen. If you still think it's 'fair' to circulate a story that Al Gore was in Texas, talking to a crowd of Texans, when in response to a question he launched into his usual environmental spiel about..., then I would still like to see some evidence that the event actually took place.

4.)Well, okay then.<g>
