NovaWest Resources Inc. ( the “Company”) “Symbol NVE-VSE”, is pleased to
announce that with its partner Goldeye Explorations Ltd “Symbol
GEYE-CDN”, that the companies have registered an initial 231 claims, the
beginning of a significant commitment in the Lac Rocher area of
Northwestern Quebec, located approximately 100 kms northeast of
Mattagami. The companies staking crews remain active at Lac Rocher.

The Lac Rocher area is the site of an outstanding Ni-Cu-Co sulphide
discovery by Nuinsco Resources Limited (Stockwatch January 20, 1999).
The sulphides are hosted by a reportedly gabbro/gabbro-norite intrusive
complex. As announced by Nuinsco (January 25, 1999) the discovery hole,
LR-99-1, intersected the intrusion said to typically contain 3 to 25%
sulphides (Pyrrhotite-Pyrite) and the lower 14.5 metre section assayed
2.34% Ni, 1.15% Cu, 0.06 Co, 0.208 g/t Pt, and 0.120 g/t Pd. The
underlying footwall concentration of massive sulphides
(Pyrrhotite-Pentlandite with grains up to 1cm-Chalcopyrite-Pyrite) was
3.2 metres thick and assayed 10.80% Ni, 0.25% Cu, 0.23% Co, 0.601 g/t Pt
and 0.363 g/t Pd.

These Novawest/Goldeye claims cover MAG/EM anomalies coincident with
targeted geologic settings and lithologies. It is Novawest/Goldeye's
intention to complete a variety of geophysical programs in preperation
of drill target identification in the immediate future.
