my example applies to any product other than a pure commodity, the name of the game as you state is not neccessary to maximize profit, but to make profit, one should focus on his own company financial position, others losing in no way shapes how one goes to market. market share is important, as is brand name identity, as someone else pointed out a demand can sometimes be created based on making a product, any product, affordable to the masses...automobiles ala henry ford, cell phones, vcr's, and yes even the boxes you refer to... |
