I regret that the Johnson Lett assay discussion has moved onto the Asia site. Asia minerals only uses fire assay and metallic screening assay.

The similarities of Copperstone and MG are in reported grades/thicknesses. I have not said or implied these grades are in any way invalid. I have only noted that all the released MG values appear to be from JL assay (not fire assay),this observation based on how I initially read the MG releases. At least if they are fire assay results they were not clearly flagged as such in the PR and I understand from yours and others recent postings that they are in fact intended to represent fire assay results. This distinction is relevant because, although MG has compared fire assay results to JL in the past, the one press release I read late in 1998 noted that Fire assay returned nil values where JL was reporting 1/2 oz/t range.

ISO is a standard lab certification process that validates the quality of gold assays using a fire assay process using various blindly submitted certified reference materials with known value/tolerance. These are generally prepared from actual mining operations with reconciled production data and provid exploration companies and investors a high degree of confidence in the analytical process. Asia Minerals reviews ISO certification report cards, as well as the labs own internal QA/QC procedures and tolerances before selecting a lab for gold assay work.

I hope these comments clear up the confusion. This site was intended for those wishing to discuss Copperstone/Asia Minerals and is not an ideal forum for discussion of JL assays, a technology which does not have any relevance to the Asia Minerals results.
