One more message from A.D....

Kevin, another thing you can pass along to the readers of the RCNC thread on SI is that today's Washington Post (Feb. 5) reports that the Washington, DC city council has just approved AT&T's purchase of Tele-Communications, which owns District Cablevision. This company has had the contract to provide cable service to DC residents for 14 years, and the contract expires next year. RCNC is a direct competitor and has been busy signing up customers in DC, who reportedly are disgusted with high rates and poor service provided by District Cablevision. RCNC recently acquired a major ISP in this area, too, (Erols) which not only sells Internet access, but also sells computers, televisions and other electronic equipment. Seems to me that AT & T eventually will want the half-million subscribers that RCNC/Erols currently
have. Now... I'm off to become a full-fledged subscriber of SI so I can speak for myself!
