Just to let everyone know ... a couple of weeks ago we bought the Toy Story video. My 33 month old daughter loved the video and (unfortunately) one of her favourite games now is to chase round the living room trying to catch the truck a la the films climax. I have to run round with her and though we alternate, I usually end up being Woody. The dog gets special dispensation to join us (as Slinky). She just loves Buzz & Woody and she desperately wanted them. Fortunately, Toys R Us just got some in at $20 a piece - tremendous value for Buzz - so-so for Woody, and they each have the requisite functions like the movie - though instead of a karate chop action, Buzz has some kind of disc projectile attachment we don't use. Saved me $50 as the alternate was the $90 FAO Schwartz interactives !!.

So ... these toys are definitely evergreen - even my wife got a Slinky keyring !!.

Thats the good news.

The bad news is that a couple of weeks ago it was raining here and I've been trying to convince my wife that the baby was old enough to go see 'A Bugs Life'..... which at the weekend and looking for an entertainment option seemed perfect. Unfortunately, of all the movie theatres within driving distance (quite considerable) it was only on in Orinda and at Jack London Square - and in both cases in really small cinema's. We saw Titanic in the Orinda one - it was like a large TV !!.
We didn't go (gnashing of teeth).

Interestingly, it would have been easier to see Rugrats.

The point is, that whilst the Disney contract has its benefits, I believe it has big drawbacks too as I am sure BUGS could have run for longer and the video release date delayed. All this is Disney driven.

Worst of all, I still haven't seen BUGS :(

Have a good weekend everyone ... I think there revenue stream from Toy Story is far from dead !!
