I was curious if this info was correct, so I called IR relations twice, spoke to two different ladies, and received two different answers.
The first time I called and asked when we could expect to find out details of the Alta-Vista spin-off. The answer I received was 'probably by the end of February'
I called a second time and said that I had seen on a message board that someone had spoken with IR and that IR had said 'full details will be available within three weeks of the intial Alta-Vista announcement' I asked if this was true, and the answer I got was 'No, there are a lot of rumours out there, the only thing CPQ has stated is that it is their intention to make Alta-Vista a public company some time in the future, but how that will effect shareholders, if at all, is not known yet.'
