Forget about the K7.

It is big and sexy and will make a real impact in 9-12 months from now.

The mid-range is the PIII and the k-3 matches fairly well with it.

And this is where the big battle will be.

If AMD cannot get K-3's into 0.18 by Q3 then you should stay away from AMD.

If they can hit 600Mhz with K-3's watch Intel melt.

With slow K-3's, AMD is doomed for at least a year IMHO.

The k-7 will be an expensive product due to the M/B + Chipset expenses etc and will take at least 6 months to ratchet up to volume.
