WelcomeTo Search Engine, Inc. confirms product on track for March 31st release

VANCOUVER, Feb. 5 /CNW/ - Welcome To Search Engine, Inc, (OTCBB: WKWG)
announces that the initial version of its regional search engine, released
internally for testing this week, is on target for its planned release on
March 31, 1999. After reviewing the initial version, Phil Dubois, President &
CEO of WelcomeTo, commented, ''Both the product and the technologies behind it
exceeded my expectations. Michael Lightheart, our Chief Technology Officer,
and the 10 developers on his team have met their design goals of creating a
system that will allow Web users to quickly locate businesses selling products
and services on the Internet.''

''We have completed the toughest and most complex aspect of the project,
building the database infrastructure and the search engine itself,'' added
Michael Lightheart. ''We are exactly where we wanted to be at this point.
Over the next six weeks, the team will be completing features that will round
out the product.''

WelcomeTo is completing the most advanced business directory system and
search engine on the Web. This product will focus primarily on
business-related web sites and will allow users to search for businesses in a
specific geographic region and business classification. The Company is also
rolling out its full suite of e-commerce products and services, acquired
through its acquisition of Xceedx Technologies Inc. WelcomeTo's revenues will
be generated by the unique and highly targeted advertising capabilities of its
regional search engine and also by meeting the needs of small and mid-sized
businesses seeking to set up electronic storefronts and expand their business
on the Internet.

The initial version of the business directory and search engine is now
being tested internally. The Company's commitment is to launch the beta
version of the product by March 31, 1999. ''As with all new software, the
beta is conducted with users in a selected target market. Then we'll follow
with a full product launch to market on June 30, 1999. By that time, we
expect to be generating significant advertising revenue,'' commented Dubois.

With the acquisition of Xceedx completed January 27, 1999, Phil Dubois
became WelcomeTo's new President & CEO. Xceedx, a company he founded in 1996,
was recognized last year by the Financial Post TechWatch/Branham 200 List of
25 Up & Coming Technology Companies in Canada. Under his leadership, Xceedx
developed the innovative Xpress/Sites, a powerful suite of software
applications that speed the creation and deployment of sophisticated
database-driven catalogs, directories and classified Web sites. Prior to
Xceedx, Phil Dubois was President and CEO of Modatech Systems Inc., one of the
leaders in the North American sales force automation marketplace. In all, he
brings 24 years of management experience in the development, sales and
marketing of software products and services.
