To all my new intel buddies: Fred, I accept your offer to come back in 12 months to assess the carnage; Doug, if you can't wait 12 months, I will come back in 6 months just for you; Paul, who the F*CK are you, other than the poster with the moster?, take a hint, "less is more;" Luis, are your fingers still on the keyboard waiting for some witty retort? or have I already received it all?; TTOSBT, yes; Joseph, it's not just the internet stocks that are ridiculously overvalued; In any event, don't take it personal guys. I just can't get excited about a company whose market valuation is twice the worldwide sales of the entire semiconductor industry; whose sales rose 4.8% and earnings fell 11% in 1998 (its worst performance in a decade); and who lost 26% of its retail PC microprocessor share and 11% share overall. (Credit to Fred Hickey for the above). Guys, Intel is a great company, but not a great $140 company; more like a great $50-60 dollar company. Enjoy the ride and fasten your seat belts. See ya in 12 months (but probably sooner). Over and out. P.S. -- Luis, you may remove your fingers now, it's way past your bed time. |
