Speaking of wireless:

TelesciCOM Ltd. Demonstrates Their New Broadband Wireless System-On-Chip.
Business Wire, Feb 2, 1999 p1235

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 1999--Today, a simultaneous demonstration of the recently released Broadband-Wireless-System-On-Chip Evaluation System was given in Israel and Europe.

This system provides major telecommunication integrators with the ability to emulate the soon-to-be released TelesciCOM chipsets and modules which provide antenna-to-plug solution at peak throughput yet for tens of dollars per connection.

Today's demonstration highlighted the relative advantages of the Spreadulation(TM) concept of TelesciCOM over other possible modulation schemes which may be considered for the broadband wireless emerging markets. TelesciCOM will sell its Evaluation Boards between March and August 1999 to phase-in engineering teams within key integrators to utilize the modules in their overall wireless broadband systems.

The evaluation system and the forthcoming module provide up to 42 Mbps of two-way transmission of data and voice over a channel of 5-6 Mhz. This is achieved due to the extremely high spectral efficiency of the TelesciCOM Spreadulation(TM) technology.

Today's demonstration was conducted with a major telecommunication integrator. "We were long waiting for a better system at a fraction of the cost to be introduced and TelesciCOM's new approach definitely has the potential to become the standard and our preferred route to take into the broadband wireless market," says Dr. Mark Whitehead. "We believe that the business opportunity for a wireless link to the Private Household is finally becoming a reality. Until now the general perception was that broadband wireless was only economically feasible for the business sector," adds Mr. Dov Sverdlov of TelesciCOM.

TelesciCOM is in the process of accelerating their business alliances program. Recently, TelesciCOM introduced solutions in the MMDS, LMDS, WEN, CEPT -- all using the TelesciCOM's core chipset technology as a foundation for highest speeds at rock bottom prices.

TelesciCOM Ltd. was founded in 1997 and has 40 employees, mostly research scientists focused in broadband wireless technologies. TelesciCOM is best known for their Spreadulation(TM) technology which was invented and developed by TelesciCOM in the past two years and is in the process of being packaged into a chipset.
