I'm starting to wonder about the future in investing. Could be a real two tier approach. First tier, those that use full service houses. They get the private placements, they get the inside knowledge, but the fees will be much higher. Second tier, those that use discount brokerages. Get good market knowledge but not the inside stuff. These discount brokers not involved in private placements, therefore no chance to make money on IPOs.

The other possibility is that there will be intermiediaries on the net. They will attract investors like us into IPOs and then market these IPOs to the discount brokerages. If this happens, I'll be one of the first customers. Come to think of it, want to start a business?
