latest salvo..(I am going to duck for the return though.) I hope you respond..gently.. I know you don't care which way gold goes because I have seen your explicit posts and see you make money on whether it goes up or down.. and you don't have the emotional component about gold that so many of us have on this thread.. If gold doesn't play a role anymore..then why in the world do so many wall street people on tv keep on referring to gold as an indicator that there is no inflation? Wouldn't it seem quite reasonable that Rubin who knows how the market works and knows how to "intervene" to get what he wants..can easily use gold as a means to suggest that there is no inflation.. ps I heard B.Siedman talk on CNBC yesterday..I loved it when he casually said that he is worried about the consumer who seems to be banking on the stock market to supply him/her with needed money to continue the buying spree..(I hope I got that right)..wonder if he too thinks that the economy is being fueled by paper assets rather than by salaries..I wish I knew how much more the average american makes now compared to five years ago and how much the average american's necessities have risen(I think I heard somebody during a Greenspan testimony say 3000 dollars more..but am not certain..yes..I am aware with all the refinancing because of lower interest rates..they are saving a gob of money on their morgages,car payments,etc.. bobby..ready to duck ps I am using browser Explorer right now and not Netscape..with msn network..notice something interesting..when I use Netscape msn keeps on disconnecting me..(wonder if they have some interest in phone company..) and if I stay with Ie4..don't seem to get disconnected.. spoke to soon..got disconnected..again maybe just a coincidence..wondering as these phone companies provide more internet services..will they also have possibly gizmos in their software to disconnect and make people pay more by having them call in more..notice GTE has online service but doesn't have unlimited access..so almost forces one to keep on dialing in instead of running up a huge bill..
