Here is a link to a relatively informative article on Lithium Polymer battery developments. While I doubt that LiPoly will be an immediate threat to NiMH sales (it takes a while for sales of any new battery grow), it appears that this type of battery will garner a substantial fraction of the electronics market - and, if Moltech's developments mature, LiPoly may also be successful eventually in power tools.
