Dr. Tech,

3COM has interoperability agreements with Alcatel and Lucent. Alcatel won the JPC and BC contracts, who is going to supply those ATU-R modems? Who shipped the 10,000 ATU-R modems to Singapore, another Alcatel contract? Alcatel has been working with other ATU-R vendors well before BEL told them to work with Westell.

I agree that BEL may want Westell initially, but just like the BC and BEL "CAP" contracts, it's that word "initial" that is the problem. I was under the impression Westell could compete against Alcatel, I was wrong. I do not believe they will compete effectively against 3COM in the ATU-R business.
