that is correct. i should have said demand relative to supply as not everyone understood the connection. that is what i meant. not just demand.

ok, you have a good point about elasticity of demand. that is exactly why i chose this point to post on this thread. revenues were down for the first time in the history of the pc industry. units were up.

what does this mean? the elasticity of demand is breaking down, hence my post.

extrapolate negative revenues the same way you do profits. if revs are falling, all else being equal, it is harder to make revenues and profits.

it used to be that prices dropped and revenues increased. now prices dropped and revenues decrease.

is this a positive trend? what does this say about the current state of demand elasticity? the trend is very, very bad...

not good, hence my original post...
