Market for services and implementation is in a funk right now, except for Oracle, I suspect that this is from database and development tools rather than ERP software/service.
Technology solid, management conservative, in deep water with respect to politics of stock market influence on company value, but their technology/product the best.
Don't like how they recognize revenues though.
I think of Oracle a number of years ago and Baan recently. They went the other way, but I can't understand the need to be 'conservative' if it has a negative impact on market impression, forget even stock values. This of course is an uneducated outside opinion.
Some of the other major players have had BIG problems with customers delaying implementations, cancelling, switching, etc...
But still, a pity if you would have to consider putting anything in your 'back pocket' because a previous sale hit a little turbulence.
Again, just a wild generalization.
Thanks for the note.
