OK gang, I e-mailed Datek days ago with this question and no answer. Maybe the WCTI Gurus can help me....I'm looking to avoid the "first in, first out" rule when selling to avoid some capital gains taxation on individual stocks that I hold long term and also trade short term. I do this at my local "full-service" (yeah, right) broker by having them specify which shares I am selling (date bought/price) on the sell ticket receipt. My question is how do I do this with an on-line broker ? Any input would be greatly appreciated
