WWW-Nice entry point--I own a shoe store, and have firsthand knowledge of WWW as well as the other players in the footwear biz. As everyone knows, the footwear companies have taken a beating over the past year or so. WWW has taken a beating as well, but somewhat unjustifiably. They run their company well, have excellent customer service, and knowledgeable sales reps.
Unlike NKE RBK and TBL, WWW has not had to deal w/ an inventory glut. They have also not seen a substantial drop in sales volume. Nonetheless, the stock has dropped, and stayed down.
In my opinion, things are changing. TBL was just upgraded, as well as NKE. NIN has also seen their price increase recently. NKE and TBL especially have brought some attention back to the footwear sector. As a value investor, this is a great time to get into WWW, as well as a few other shoe companies. WWW was downgraded the same day as TBL in November. One positive earnings report, as well as an upgrade will send WWW back into the high teens.
As a retailer, the spring is my strongest time of the year for business w/ WWW. Hush Puppies sell best in the spring months, and that is upon us.
To those who are angry about having held WWW for so many months w/ little upward movement, just hold tight a little longer. Better to hold and be angry, than sell, and watch the price go up right after you dump it. You may also want to average down, and pick up a few more shares.
